M/s Rubamin Ltd. - Halol. (DCS with Zone-1 RIO for Dual Alkali Plant)

Glosol successfully supplied and commissioned an advanced Dual Alkali Distributed Control System (DCS) at M/s. Rubamin’s hydrometallurgical recycling complex. The facility employs Dual Alkali scrubbing technology, using a combination of alkalis, typically sodium and calcium-based compounds to efficiently remove and regenerate sulphur dioxide (SO₂) from gas streams. Integrated into a closed-loop, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) system, this process plays a critical role in Rubamin’s zero-waste, circular economy initiative, contributing to the recovery of high-purity critical minerals from recycled batteries.

Glosol’s scope included the engineering, supply, and commissioning of the DCS, along with seamless integration of Intelligent MCCs (iMCCs) for centralized motor control. A smart architecture was deployed wherein the engineering station is operated from a central location, while controllers and operator stations are installed locally at the plant site, enabling efficient, distributed plant operation with centralized management. This project underscores Glosol’s expertise in sustainable process automation, supporting green technology innovation with reliable and scalable automation infrastructure.

M/s. Indpro Engineering Pvt. Ltd. (DCS system for Bulk Material Handling Unit)

Glosol successfully delivered and commissioned a DCS system for Pneumatic Conveying Material Handling Unit for M/s. Indpro Engineering, with the end application at M/s. Rubamin’s facility. Pneumatic conveying systems play a vital role in modern industrial operations by enabling the safe, clean, and efficient transfer of bulk solid materials through controlled air streams. Glosol designed and configured the system logic based on multiple parameters such as product density, abrasiveness, friability, particle size distribution, throughput capacity, and the number of source/destination points—ensuring a fully customized and reliable solution aligned with process needs.

The scope of work included engineering, supply, and commissioning of the DCS system, along with the deployment of three Remote I/O (RIO) panels, seamlessly connected to the central DCS over TCP/IP. The system was further enhanced with integration of Intelligent MCCs (iMCC) and energy monitoring features via serial protocol, offering real-time visibility and control over the material handling process. This project highlights Glosol’s expertise in delivering automation solutions tailored to specialty process applications, showcasing the team’s ability to design and implement advanced material handling systems with precision and efficiency.

Glosol has successfully completed the Power Management System (PMS) project at M/s Grasim Industries Ltd., Vilayat Unit. M/s Madura Coats - Panoli (FAS Project)

Glosol successfully executed a comprehensive Fire Alarm System project for Madhura Coats, covering the design, engineering, supply, and commissioning of an NFPA-certified Fire Alarm Panel System. The system includes over 250 field devices such as Smoke Detectors, Heat Detectors, Flameproof Manual Call Points (FLP MCP), and FLP Sounders. The installation was carried out across the entire Panoli plant, spanning critical zones like the Store, LT Room, Transformer Room, VCB Plant, Goltax Plant, ETP/RO Plant, DC Room, Polishing Area, Office Area, Dyeing Area, Finishing Area, Boiler Unit, and Hank Winding section.

Since commissioning, Glosol has continued to provide support and calibration services, ensuring the system remains fully operational and compliant with safety standards.

Glosol has successfully commissioned a fully integrated, Industry 4.0-ready Distributed Control System (DCS) at Rubamin Ltd.’s first Lithium Battery Recycling Plant—a landmark project in the clean energy and sustainability sector.

This cutting-edge automation system was designed to meet the complex demands of lithium battery recycling and is deployed with the highest level of system reliability, safety, and scalability.

Project Scope & Highlights

  • Plant-wide automation across six key process phases: LIB Leaching, Solvent Extraction (SX), FG, Moly, Silo Warehouse, and Dual Alkyl.
  • Equipped with Zone-1 Remote I/O (RIO) and Intelligent Motor Control Centers (iMCC) for hazardous area applications.
  • Central Control Room built with controllers and redundant power supplies supporting over 6,000+ I/Os, interconnecting all process units and buildings.
  • Complete redundancy implemented across Controllers, Servers, Power Supplies, Network Communication and RIO Level

The project includes 15 Remote Operator Stations, OPC UA connectivity for advanced software integration, an E-server for multi-user remote access, and HART management tools for smart instrument diagnostics. Integration with 40+ third-party packages enables robust process synchronization across the plant. Additionally, Glosol supplied and commissioned key instrumentation including Pressure Transmitters, Differential Pressure Transmitters, Radar Level Transmitters, and Toxic Gas Detectors.

Glosol successfully commissioned a SIL-2 compliant PLC-based automation system at GAIL - Hazira, showcasing our expertise in delivering high-reliability and safety-critical solutions for the natural gas sector.
